Today is a day to introduce a new person into the world, and to bless and honour this person and their name. It is a day of new beginnings and a time to acknowledge new family and friends. It is a promise made by those who attend to love, support and welcome this person. Journey

We will begin with a phone call, where we can discuss the purpose of the Name Day, and who's being named. We will then arrange a meeting and I will send you some questions to answer before the meeting. When we meet, we can discuss the type of ceremony you want, and what rituals you want to include. We will discuss guide parents if there are any, and what parts you want people to play in the ceremony. Each name is extremely unique to the person being named, and Kindred Ceremonies will make sure the day is exactly what you want. I will then go home and create a script for you, which I will email to you for you to read over, and we can redraft things if necessary. Then I will meet on the day of the Ceremony at the location and officiate the ceremony.

Rituals

There are a range of rituals to choose from should you want some on the day including the use of the four elements - water, fire, earth and air - to welcome the person to the world, tree-planting to symbolise growth, and commitment vows by the parents and guide parents. We can discuss how to personalise the rituals, and can include religious and non-religious rituals too.

Scripts

Kindred Ceremonies create a personalised script for each ceremony they do. The script is a written document containing every part of your ceremony, from the moment you arrive right through to the end. Kindred Ceremonies' scripts are divided into titled sections, so you know exactly how the ceremony will run and what we will be doing in each part and why. It will include any vows, music or readings too, and I will send you a copy of the script via email so we can re-draft it until it's perfect.
